Teaching And Learning For Students With Disabilities
In order for students with disabilities to learn in a science classroom, there needs to be a balanced approach to learning that includes both instructed and constructed learning activities. Direct teaching and mnemonic strategies can be used in order for students to learn vocabulary and facts. Text structure comprehension and summarization strategies can be implemented to help students read science textbooks. Graphic organizers and framed outlines can help improve learning of abstract concepts. Students with disabilities can also benefit from hands-on science, where they learn from experience. Research has shown positive effects from the use of hands-on activities with students who have disabilities and concrete activities. Direct, explicit, targeted questioning, and deductive thinking, through the use of coached elaborations, can improve learning for students with disabilities during hands-on science lessons. Students with disabilities may be able to perform experiments and activiti es, but may not be able to draw conclusions or transfer learning like their peers. Differentiated curriculum enhancements, embedded in materials, can help all students. Peer tutoring and cooperative learning have also been shown to be effective in increased engagement and motivation of students, including those with disabilities, in science classrooms (Scruggs Mastropieri, 2007). Analysis Explanation of investment philosophy and strategy for the development of portfolio Portfolio management strategy assists in increasing profits by managing risk and required returns (Powell, 2015). Aggressive strategies of investment are appropriate in the current situation. Active management is required by aggressive strategies of investment rather than conservatives, as it is possible to get more unstable and requires constant adjustment to cope up with changing con ditions of the market.
